Priceless
Removing your hot water radiator system, installing duct work, converting house to central air: $17,000
Needing a blanket inside when it's 85 degrees and 100% humid outside: Priceless
(And if you work for MasterCard: It's fair use/parody, so don't even think of sending a letter to me, mmmkay?)

So did you also install central heating? Or is central air central to both heating and air conditioning? Our friend installed ducts for heating and a/c in his old painted lady in Fairfield and never hooked up the a/c (doesn't need it, he says, house gets a great cross-breeze from the Sound) and ended up having to move the heating ducts around because the installers put them in strange places. He said he regrets giving up the radiators because Victorians just don't look right without them. But he said the heat ducts work pretty well now that they're in the right places -- he's the type that doesn't mind being hot, but hates like hell to be cold.
We saw most of Firefly on Friday -- it's pretty good, so I think we'll actually watch it. I wouldn't have even cared about catching it if you hadn't said it was good. So thanks for the tip.
We've been thinking about doing that. On the one hand.. there's the pricetag.
On the other hand, three kids.
There ya go.
