Squirrels and pumpkins
Like a certain local weather personality, I had a pumpkin ravaged by a local squirrel. In our case, it was during the hour and a half or so we were gone to have breakfast - that was one fast little furr ball.
I tried to get a photo of the squirrel, what with being about 45 pounds and all, but the fat pudge actually managed to get up into a tree and away before I could. I'm just amazed at the speed with which he worked. And the mess he created. Ugh.
Luckily for us, we have a dumpster in the front yard, so I tossed the mess into a bag then into the dumpster. If the squirrels want it, they can go for it in there - as long as they're careful of the junk ;).

The pumpkin we had out front was actually uncarved - and it's not like I had plans for it. What got me is that we were only gone about an hour, and this bad boy had done quite a bit of work during that time!
What's with all the shock with squirrels eating decorative pumpkins? Were you really displaying it outside in hopes to bring it back in and cook it?
