More zero tolerance gone bad...
SOUR EXPERIENCE
By DAN MANGAN
August 8, 2002 -- A Long Island mother is fuming that JFK Airport security guards forced her to drink her own breast milk in front of other passengers before boarding a flight - to prove she wasn't carrying any dangerous fluid to wreak havoc.
"It was very uncomfortable and very embarrassing and very disgusting," said Elizabeth McGarry, 40, of the April 2 incident.
I'm sure that La Leche League will have two issues with this.
1) That they made her drink the breast milk that was for her child
2) that she described it as embarrasing and disgusting.
My wife breastfeeds our daughter :abby:. She does it without shame and for good reason - it's a perfectly natural thing to do. So why does this woman feel that it's embarrasing and disgusting to drink breastmilk? If it's good enough for her child, then it should be good enough for her, right?
